12302011 Trios

Don’t ask me why, but these sets were somehow inspired after watching a series of musical out-takes from Jerry Lewis classic comedy films (‘The Typewriter Song’, Bigshot/Boardroom/Big band, Kitchen conductor, etc).

Some re-use of the material included in the previous 12272011 sets (without ‘errant tone’).

12272011 Trios

Musical machine guns of bent guitar fire at stealthy metal shadows on a Schoenberg serial battlefield . In between, tense periods of pure anxiety stroke at the minds edge punctuated by scurrying fretted mortars and harmonic grenades.

Sometimes it works…sometimes not. An ‘errant’ digital tone wound up in several bounces, per Eno’s ‘Honor thy mistake as intention’, I decided to leave it as a sort-of conceptual ‘pedal tone ‘…though I may revisit that decision when time allows;-)

iN mY ouTboX

Avant-ethno weirdness as yet-undiscovered social network tribes of post ‘occupy nowhere’ chill in an industrial Wabi Sabi club, beating ‘battery low funk’ to autotimed, autotuned ringtones and an uncompleted textings from #Zarathustra:

“…I tell you: one must have chaos in one, to give birth to a dancing star…”

Chromaphone Trios

A four set percussion coloring book (variations on a set of discreet performances), based on Applied Acoustics ‘Chromaphone’, a modeled percussion synthesizer.

Here, used to create a trio under-layer of electroacoustic improvisations for future development and avant-jazz track foundations. References might? be “New York School Composers” (John Cage, Christian Wolff, Earle Brown, etc) for those interested.

Also, greatly anticipating the upcoming ‘Patchpool’ release for  Chromaphone, ‘Chromazone’ by Simon Stockhausen 😉
