Eternal Eternities

Can anything be said to exist “outside of” or independent of Time/Space, and if so how and why?

Special thanks to Simon Stockhausen.

The Dark Before The Bang

A collection of processed performances of trumpet/piano (courtesy Simon Stockhausen), along with assorted performance gestures/sounds (various sources) and ‘Reaktor’ ambiences (again thanks to Simon for his ‘Eternity’) which were then processed together in two separate sessions and approaches via two separately applied custom ‘Reaktor’ granular synthesis ensembles. Then the overall ‘pool’ was mixed and matched as ‘duos’.

One criteria of the duet mix/match sessions were determined by ‘tagging’ the various file pool with ‘DJ’ software for ‘key’, which, with this type of material, creates ‘match’ results that are somewhat open/ambiguous but make for a higher probability of consonant ‘accidents’ to occur within a thus determined combination while leaving ‘sinister intervals’ to likely still appear.

The soundwave created by the ‘Big Bang’ is now around 500 million light years across, too faint to hear. The final mix isn’t complete yet…and we don’t know how the record ends.

I Left My Heart In San Jacinto

The morning fog may chill the air, something moving in. High on a hill, it calls to me, I taste it in my mouth and in my heart.

Impressions based on the melancholic interludes of Peter Gabriel’s live show multimedia presentations.

Dedicated to old friend and fellow Peter Gabriel fanboy, Dave B.
